Oldham remain unbeaten on the road after beating Chesterfield

Oldham hit back in the rain to preserve their unbeaten away League record with a 2-1 win at Chesterfield.

The home side led through Sylvan Ebanks-Blake but Dominic Poleon equalised in the 72nd minute and Danny Philliskirk clinched Oldham's third win of the season with a late strike that went in off Tommy Lee.

There had not been an incident of note until Chesterfield scored in the 34th minute when Dan Jones's low cross deflected off Lee Novak to Ebanks-Blake who fired past Joe Coleman from 10 yards.

Oldham enjoyed plenty of possession but did not have a shot on target until the 65th minute when Carl Winchester's low drive from 20 yards was easily saved by Lee.

But Oldham at last made an attack count when Giorgio Rasulo's shot was too pushed out by Lee but Poleon reacted sharply to turn the ball in at the back post in the 72nd minute.

Poleon saw a shot skid just wide in the 83rd minute but Oldham snatched it in the 87th when Philliskirk's shot squeezed under Lee and went in off a post and the keeper's back.
