Tony McMahon nets winner as Bradford overcome managerless Chesterfield

Bradford finally found a way past Tommy Lee as Tony McMahon gave the visitors a 1-0 win at managerless Chesterfield.

Lee made a string of superb saves but was beaten by McMahon's second-half strike which lifts Bradford to eighth in Sky Bet League One.

Bradford started strongly and they went close in the 14th minute when Billy Clarke headed against a post and James Hanson was just wide two minutes later.

Kyle Reid had a 20-yard shot saved as Bradford dominated but Chesterfield went close in the 40th minute when Liam O'Neill shot just over from 15 yards.

Lee saved Chesterfield twice in the 52nd minute by turning behind a Reid shot and then diving to his left to save Hanson's downward header.

Lee made another great stop from Clarke but Bradford broke through in the 72nd minute when the striker went clear on the left and crossed for McMahon to score from 12 yards.
