Chesterfield boss Lee Richardson has agreed a deal to bring the experienced former Newcastle United and Carlisle United goalkeeper Tony Caig to Saltergate on a short-term deal. The 34-year-old shot-stopper will join the Spireites later this week, subject to receiving international clearance. Caig, who has most recently been playing with Major League Soccer side Houston Dynamo and United Soccer League side Vancouver Whitecaps, will provide back-up to current first-choice shot-stopper Tommy Lee. Richardson told the club's official website: "Tony has a wealth of goalkeeping experience and is happy to come in for a short spell to support Tommy Lee and provide emergency cover should it be needed."
