Scott Boden could make a rare start for Chesterfield when the league leaders host Aldershot. The striker is fit again after an ankle injury and was on the bench for the draw at Stockport in midweek, although who he would partner remains up for discussion. Leading scorer Craig Davies, with just one goal in eight games and none in his last five outings, will be hoping to get back into form while Deane Smalley, scorer of five goals since Davies last struck, could get his first start at the b2net Stadium having only made the starting line-up in away games. The draw at Stockport was achieved without veteran striker Jack Lester (hamstring) and defenders Simon Ford (knee) and Gregor Robertson (hamstring) and boss John Sheridan is still sweating on their fitness. He said: "We are still assessing them. They are three big players for us who have been playing well but the lads that came in for them also did well." Meanwhile, defender Dean Holden will be added to the squad after the free agent signed a deal until the end of the season on Thursday.
