The pair - who made more than 500 appearances between them for the Spireites - are currently assistant managers at Blue Square North side Gainsborough Trinity but are keen to replace Lee Richardson in the Saltergate hot seat. The former Chesterfield stalwart told the Derbyshire Times: "We both know what Chesterfield fans want and we are very keen to be given the chance. "We want to put bums on seats and we intend to send our CVs to the club. We are a bit inexperienced but I believe we have the potential. We just need to be given the chance. We would like to manage the players with a hint of fun and humour." The club have confirmed that over 40 applications have been recieved for the vacant manager's position and the Spireites are hoping to have a new boss in place in early June.
