Allott comes back to Chesterfield

Former Chesterfield captain Mark Allott has returned to the club on a two-year deal after eight weeks at Tranmere.The 31-year-old midfielder left Oldham for Rovers last month, but new manager John Barnes was willing to let him go. Chesterfield boss John Sheridan said: "I'm delighted that he became available and he immediately wanted to join our promotion push here at Chesterfield." In 2005-06 Allott was voted as Chesterfield's player of the year and supporters' player of the year. He first joined Chesterfield in 2002 and made 243 appearances for the Spireites.
