Young wants a predator

Neil Young wants to make a penalty-box predator the final piece of his jigsaw. The Blues` boss believes goals will be the key to promotion from and that is why he intends to add a proven hitman to the three-pronged strike force he has assembled. Young led Colwyn Bay out of the same division through the play-offs last season, but it was FC Halifax Town who blazed their way to the title, scoring 108 times and racking up 100 points along the way. The Chester manager has confidence that Rob Hopley, Adriano Rigoglioso and Aaron Burns will find the net – yet that has not stopped him from making a fourth forward his number one transfer target. “If you’re going to get out of this league, you’re going to have to score goals,” said Young, who swooped for Burns from Northwich Victoria and Ashton United winger Iain Howard last weekend. “Halifax bossed the league last year and I put that down to the fact they brought in forwards who could score twenty-five goals plus. We struggled with goals at Colwyn Bay because we lost Rob Hopley, who is now with us at Chester, in October to a bad injury. “We did well because we were strong with big, physical players with the right mental attitude. We’ve got exactly the same at Chester, but the difference is goals, so that’s why I’d like to get someone who has regularly scored at a higher level.”
