Wright relishes Blues victory
06 Apr 2009 - 16:51:25
Chester City boss Mark Wright was full of praise for his side after they secured a first victory in 19 games to keep alive their hopes of Football League survival.
A 2-1 win at Notts County moved the Blues to within a point of third bottom Grimsby Town, but the success came at the cost of a shoulder injury to keeper John Danby.
Wright told the Evening Leader: "If I'm being honest I'd have to say that this victory was long overdue.
"It ended up being a very good afternoon for us, but we were under a lot of pressure.
"I think other clubs have it very easy. We only had four fit lads on our bench and they were all 17 or 18-year-olds and we only had eleven fit pros available to start.
"To come to a big club like Notts County and go away with three points is a great achievement."
