Wright: Blues hang by a thread

Mark Wright admitted that the future looks bleak for his Chester City side after they lost 2-0 at home to Bournemouth at the weekend.

The Blues are four points adrift of safety with just two games to play in League Two, with Wright left to bemoan the off-field problems affecting his plans.

He told the Evening Leader: "We're aware that our Football League status is now hanging by a thread, but things have been hard for us.

"Everybody else has been able to strengthen their squads while ours has remained the same.

"I think my boys have done tremendously well, but when we face a big, organised side like Bournemouth, we didn't have enough to trouble them.

"I thought Bournemouth deserved their win and we have to wish them all the best, but we now know what we've got to do."
