      Vaughan vows to move forward

      01 Jun 2009 - 15:56:22

Chester City owner Stephen Vaughan remains confident about the club's future.

Despite suffering relegation from League Two and moving into administration, Vaughan is looking forward to life in the Blue Square Premier League.

He told The Chronicle: "If I take the club through a Company Voluntary Arrangement the debt will be £290,000. But if the club goes to another bidder the debt will be £4,290,000.

"I've met with the Conference and they're looking forward to us joining the league. I want to just take the ten-point hit, which we'll overcome, and move forward.

"There are players queuing up to join this club and we'll be able to compete with the top-five next season.

"What people need to realise though is that I'm the only person willing to realistically take this club forward. The administrators have noted that and that's why we need to look forward now."
