Jones maintains Blues interest

Published: 21 May 2009 - 16:10:18

Jones, who was a reserve team player for the Blues in the late 1980s before returning as a coach in the mid-90s, had made an inquiry with administrators Refresh Recovery Ltd, but admits he was deterred by the asking price. "In my opinion, the administrators are not going to get what they're asking for," Jones told the Chester Chronicle. "But I'm speaking to David Pickering (chairman of the Supporters Trust) and needless to say we are hopeful of being able to do something that will at least make the administrators look at what we can put forward. The administrator Bill Brandon confirmed that they will meet with the FA and the Conference next week to discuss potential repercussions if the club is still in administration by June 13, the date they are due to be admitted to the Conference.
