Following Chester City's expulsion from the Football Conference last week, it is understood that the City council are examining ways of evicting the club from the Deva Stadium. Rent on the stadium is months overdue, and with apparently no income coming into the club in the foreseeable future the city fathers are keen to repossess the Deva which the club rented from them. A spokesman for the council wouldn’t be drawn on the situation last night, however he did acknowledge that they were reviewing the clubs occupancy. Meanwhile, City Fans United are in the process of continuing regular and active discussions with the Council over making an application for the lease of the Deva should the current club be evicted.
