The Football Association will probe a tunnel bust-up between Chester City and Shrewsbury Town following last weekend's meeting at Gay Meadow.
The Shrews ran out 2-1 winners, but the match was marred by a mass brawl at full-time and further trouble in the tunnel allegedly involving Chester chairman Stephen Vaughan.
Michael Symes netted a last-minute winner from the penalty spot before ugly scenes erupted at full-time, which resulted in Town skipper Sagi Burton being shown a red card.
"We are looking into reports of an incident in the tunnel, which may have involved the Chester chairman," confirmed an FA spokesman.
