Chester City have confirmed the full-time appointment of caretaker manager Simon Davies on a two-year contract.
Davies was originally handed interim charge of the League Two club until the end of the season following the decision to sack former boss Bobby Williamson at the beginning of March.
He has won just one of his nine games at the helm, but City owner Steve Vaughan has taken the decision to hand him the reins on a permanent basis.
"Obviously my first priority is to ensure our Football League status for next season," admitted Davies.
"I'm extremely pleased to be given the job. Mr Vaughan has backed me all the way since I was originally appointed."
