Chester City manager Simon Davies can't wait for next season to begin following a disappointing ending to the current campaign.
Saturday's 0-0 home draw with neighbours Macclesfield Town was a third goalless stalemate on the spin but, after putting pen to paper on a two-year contract at the Deva Stadium last month, the rookie manager is already looking forward to the next campaign.
"We've ended the season with three goalless draws, but if you take the positives from that, we've had three clean sheets, which has been enough to see us stay up," he said.
"It was a lethargic display against Macclesfield Town, but the lads gave everything on Tuesday night and I think that all the frustration was finally released, which made for a lack-lustre display.
"It's been a tough three months for me since I've been in charge. We'll all have a break, but I can't wait for next season to start."
