Chester City boss Keith Curle is frustrated at the lack of progress in his attempt to sign Doncaster Rovers striker Gregg Blundell.
Reports had suggested earlier this month that the two clubs had agreed a £110,000 transfer fee for the 29-year-old former Northwich Victoria striker, but the deal appears to have stalled.
"I've not spoken to Gregg Blundell because we've not received permission from Doncaster to speak to him," said Curle.
"I'd be interested in signing him because I think he's a proven goalscorer who has been a thorn in my side on more than one occasion when I was manager of Mansfield Town.
"But until Chester receive permission to speak to him we can't pursue our interest in him."
