Chester City number two Malcolm Thomson has left the Deva Stadium.
Thomson joined the League Two club alongside manager Bobby Williamson last May but is now expected to join Scottish Premier League side Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
Chester are set to speak to Gerry McCabe as they look to fill the void.
McCabe was previously number two to Williamson while he was in charge at Kilmarnock.
"Thomson reached his decision to leave the Deva with a degree of apprehension but had to put his family commitments first," read a club statement.
"Chester City will this week speak to former manager of Dumbarton Football Club, Gerry McCabe, to fill the vacancy."
