Chester City manager Keith Curle has finally completed the signing of the Doncaster Rovers striker Gregg Blundell on a two-year deal, subject to a medical.
The League Two side have paid a club record transfer fee, believed to be £105,000, for the former Northwich Victoria forward.
The 29-year-old's move to the Deva Stadium has been a long-running affair with Curle spending most of the summer trying to land his man.
Blundell scored 28 goals in 74 League starts for Rovers since moving to Belle Vue from Northwich in March 2003.
Meanwhile, City drew their opening pre-season match on Tuesday when they held Stoke City to a 1-1 draw.
