Chester City have confirmed that caretaker boss Simon Davies will remain in charge at the Deva Stadium until the end of the season.

The 33-year-old former Manchester United midfielder was placed in charge following the axing of Bobby Williamson and has seen his charges lose their first two games under his stewardship.

However, the Blues have opted to keep Davies in place until the summer.

He told the club's official website: "I'm as pleased as Punch to have been given the job and I'm obviously pleased that the club's owner has given me the opportunity.

"I've enjoyed every single minute of the last week.

"Obviously the results have been disappointing, but we've created chances in the two games I've been in charge and I know that we'll turn things around."
