Chester FC lodge formal appeal with FA over placing. Chester Football Club have confirmed that a formal appeal of the decision to recommend that Chester FC be placed into Step 5 of the National League System has been made to the FA. An appeal was lodged with the Football Association on Wednesday 19th May 2010. This followed an initial request on Tuesday 18th May 2010 for clarification on the criteria and subsequent reasons for the decision to be placed in Step 5, Chester FC await the response to this request. A statement on the City Fans United website says, 'At this stage Chester FC cannot reveal further details of the appeal'.
