    Blues boss backs Linwood

    03 Oct 2007 - 12:13:21

Chester City manager Bobby Williamson has admitted that it was a tough decision to drop centre-back Phil Bolland from his Blues starting line-up.

Bolland stepped in when Paul Linwood was suspended recently, but the latter has been restored alongside Paul Butler for the last two games, which have resulted in 2-1 wins at Macclesfield Town and Grimsby Town.

Williamson told the Evening Leader: "I can't complain about the guys who have come in and done well and that includes Phil Bolland, who came in and never did much wrong at all really.

"It was just a managerial decision I made and hopefully it will hold us in good stead, but you have to feel for people who are left out after they haven't played badly.

"Paul Linwood came back into our defence because he had previously been playing well, if he had been playing poorly when he got suspended then he might have found himself out for a lot longer.

"I felt Paul Butler and Paul Linwood had been playing well together."
