Oxford boss Chris Wilder has a full squad to choose from and is likely to name an unchanged side against Chester. Therefore, defender Kevin Sandwith will face his former club, while James Constable will again lead the line. Midfielder Anthony Barry is a major doubt for Chester after picking up an ankle injury at the weekend. Uruguayan midfielder Fabian Yantorno is unavailable as the club are still waiting for international clearance while Shaun Kelly is still injured. Chester boss Mick Wadsworth told BBC Radio Merseyside: "We knew when we saw the fixtures that games three, four and five were going to be difficult. That's why we needed games one and two to get us on the road. "The next two games are going to be testing. All games are going to be testing because we're in a difficult situation but the sooner we get going the better."
