Chester FC will be placed in the Vodkat League (formerly known as the North West Counties League) The FA have recommended that Chester be placed at Step 5 of the 'National League System', which, in reality, means that the Blues will be facing club's such as Runcorn Linnets, Bootle, Maine Road and Formby nest season. It's a blow to the hopes of many Chester fans who expected to be placed a step higher in what would have been the Evo-Stick (Unibond) League Division One. City Fans United press officer Jeff Banks said a “contributory factor” in the FA’s decision was because there are no vacancies in steps three and four – the UniBond Premier and First Division North and South. Chester FC CEO Steve Ashton commented “We are naturally disappointed with this decision, as we had hoped to be placed in a higher league. Regardless of this, the board remain focused and resolute in their objectives of building a successful football club for our City.“ Step 1 - Blue Square Bet Conference Step 2 - Blues Square Bet Conference North/South Step 3 - Evo-Stick Premier Division Step 4 - Evo-Stick Division One North/South Step 5 - Vodkat League Premier Division Step 6 - Vodkat League First Division
