01 June 2010 09:41
Chester FC have been advised that the meeting scheduled for 1 June 2010 with the FA Leagues Committee has been postponed, an appeal hearing will be convened at Wembley during week commencing 14 June 2010. Chester are appealing against the decision by the FA to recommend that Chester FC be placed at Step 5 of the National Football System which would incure a Vodkat Premier Division place next season. Club officials are hopeful that this decision can be overturned and that Chester FC can start their journey back to the Football League from a higher level. A statement on the club's official website reads, "Preparation for such an appeal takes time, however, our first team preparations continue unaffected and at pace. "Neil Young will continue to build a squad that will be competitive in the highest possible division Chester FC could be placed. "The club are unable to comment any further on this matter at this time."
