Chester have won their appeal to the FA and will start the 2010/11 season in the Evo-Stik League 1 North division. Chester FC have confirmed that notification has been received from the Football Association that the club will be placed into Step 4 of the National League System, which means Chester FC will compete in the Evo-Stik League 1 North during season 2010/11. The Blues were initally set to take part in the North West Counties (Vodkat) League when the FA originally recommended that Chester begin at Step 5 of the National Football System but earlier this week Blues officials met with the FA at Wembley to argue their case. Chester claimed that they were being treated as a new club as opposed to the continuation of the previous one and sited several previous precedents to back up their stance. Chester will now line-up against club's such as Radcliffe Borough, Skelmersdale United, Lancaster City and local neighbours Cammell Laird.
