Burscough boss gutted to lose keeper

Burscough manager Andy Gray has desribed losing goalkeeper Richie Whiteside as a blow. The Linnets’ number one sealed a move to newly formed Chester FC late last week in what Gray termed a “fantastic offer” for the player. Gray’s hunt for a new stopper has started in earnest but he says the two month window before the start of the season gives him some breathing space in what can often be a difficult search. A number of targets have already been identified but Gray says he will not be panicked into making a signing ahead of the Evo-Stik Premier Division. // '); // ]]> Gray said: “The deal they offered Richard was fantastic so now I have got to start looking for a new number one. Richard did really well for us last year so will be hard to replace but I’ve got a couple of months to find one; though I would rather it be sooner than later because a good keeper is hard to find.”
