Yates takes action

Mark Yates called his Cheltenham players in for a heart-to-heart discussion on Sunday as he looks to get to the bottom of their recent dip in form.Saturday's 2-1 home defeat to Aldershot extended Town's sorry run to just one win in 11 games and left them 16th in npower League Two.The Robins' squad broke off from their normal post-match routine to report for duty on Sunday, and Yates will also put them through their paces on the morning of the club's annual trip to Cheltenham Races later this week."I'm not the sort of manager to punish people and disrupt things but Saturday's performance was poor and we have to improve quickly," he told Cheltenham's official website."The boys were in on Sunday, we didn't go over the top with them but we had a very open and frank discussion. We need to get back to the basics of working hard and working as a team because the last couple of months have been nowhere near what we are capable of."A good bonding session at the races this week will do the players some good but we will have another session before that as well."
