Yates left to rue missed chances

Published: 07 Mar 2010 - 15:09:58

Barry Conlon's third goal of the season from a 41st-minute penalty was enough to record a seventh win in eight matches for the Spireites, while the Robins failed to grabbed a point despite dominating proceedings after the goal. But Yates was pleased with the general performance of his side and singled out debutants Aaron Lescott and Medy Elito, who both started the clash after joining on month-long loan deals from Bristol Rovers and Colchester respectively prior to the match. "It was very frustrating, it was probably one of our better performances for the last few weeks," said Yates. "I thought the two new lads were really good. Medy came into his own in the second half and showed what a good player he can be. "To hit the woodwork three times, and not take a few other chances was massively frustrating and we're disappointed we didn't get anything against a decent, strong organised team when we were possibly the best team on the day."
