Yates in line for Robins role
18 Dec 2009 - 14:55:05
Kidderminster chairman Barry Norgrove has had a change of heart and will now allow Harriers boss Mark Yates to talk to Cheltenham Town about becoming the new manager at Whaddon Road.
The 39-year-old is a former Robins player and his contract at Aggborough is due to expire next summer.
Norgrove had said earlier in the week that he would not allow Yates to speak with the League Two strugglers but has now said: "I have been approached by Cheltenham Town about Mark.
"He would like the opportunity to speak with them and see what they have to say, and we as a club have given permission for him to do so."
The Robins have endured a difficult season so far, parting company with Martin Allen and finding themselves in a battle to avoid relegation to the Blue Square Premier League.
Former boss Steve Cotterill rejected the chance to return to Whaddon Road earlier in the week.
