Wilson makes Robins return

Stoke City full-back Brian Wilson has returned to Cheltenham Town for a second loan spell of the season.

The 20-year-old played eight times for the Robins in a six-week loan spell around the turn of the year, but was recalled to the Britannia Stadium because of an injury crisis.

Town boss John Ward kept a close eye on Wilson's progress and has now been able to re-sign him on loan, with a view to a permanent move being completed in the near future.

"Everyone at Cheltenham will be pleased to hear he's finally joined," Ward told the Western Daily Press.

"He's done extremely well for the football club in the past. When he arrived he got really stuck in and helped lift us away from the relegation places.

"We're delighted and so is Brian. Both clubs want a deal done quickly, but it's on hold at the moment, with it being such short notice."
