Cheltenham boss John Ward praised the resilience of his players after they secured their League One status for a record-breaking second successive season.
Kayode Odejayi, a double from man-of-the match Steven Gillespie and a late John Melligan strike cancelled out early goals from Marc Newsham and Ian Henderson as the Robins secured three vital points with Saturday's 4-2 win at Rotherham.
"This is the best thing I have ever been involved in," claimed Ward.
"It's a history-making season. We have never been in League One for two consecutive seasons and we have never had more than 48 points.
"At two down, I did not think it was going to happen but the lads pulled it through for us.
"They have played well for me since Christmas. It's been a learning curve and they have been put to the test and come through it."
