Town seek fans' backing

Cheltenham Town chairman Paul Baker has called on the club's fans to help finance the loan signing of a new striker.

The Robins currently have Ashley Vincent, Steven Gillespie and Damian Spencer all out of action, with only Kayode Odejayi and Steve Guinan available to boss John Ward.

Baker told the club's official website: "The board of directors are keen to support John Ward with the signing of a loan player, but the club itself does not have the money.

"As individual directors we are able to part finance a signing, but we would welcome any contributions from supporters.

"We would be looking for a temporary signing for one or two months and I know John is actively looking at players now in the hope that we can have someone for the weekend."
