Smith handed trial at Cheltenham

The ex-Arsenal trainee, 30, has linked up with Martin Allen's squad for the first day of pre-season training and could feature in Friday night's opening friendly against Bishop's Cleeve. Smith was linked with Cheltenham back in 2007 when then manager John Ward tried to sign him, but he opted to move to Edgar Street.
