Robins put Allen on leave

Cheltenham Town have placed manager Martin Allen on gardening leave while they conduct an investigation into allegations made by a local newspaper.
Allen, who was appointed in September 2008, has been stood down after the Gloucestershire Echo newspaper alleged that he racially abused a nightclub doorman.
"Due to adverse reports in the press regarding Martin Allen, the board of directors have informed Martin that he will not be required to attend work pending the outcome of an investigation into the allegations that have been reported," read a club statement.
"Martin Allen has therefore been placed on garden leave and John Schofield has been asked to take temporary charge of team affairs pending the outcome of the investigation."
On the pitch the 20th-placed Robins are struggling after winning just three of their 13 League Two games this season.
