Richards never doubted talent

New Cheltenham Town man Justin Richards was pleased to get off the mark with two goals in Saturday's thrilling 5-4 defeat against Bradford City and claims he had no doubt he could make the grade in League Two.

After spells with Blue Square Premier League sides Woking and Kidderminster Harriers, the 28-year-old has finally found his way back into the Football League after making his debut with West Bromwich Albion a decade ago.

But after scoring an excellent scissor kick and tapping in from close range, the striker is confident more goals will follow.

Speaking to Gloucestershire Echo, he said: "In the previous couple of games I missed a few good chances and it was getting frustrating, but you have to keep going and keep working hard and breaks come for you.

"In each game, if you're missing chances you're there to score and I just have to keep getting in the right place at the right time.

"I've scored overhead kicks before, but for it to be my first Cheltenham goal, it was obviously quite special."
