Injury woe gets Duff down
08 Sep 2009 - 15:18:01
Cheltenham Town captain Shane Duff is unlikely to play again this month as he struggles to recover from the injury that he picked up in the 5-4 home defeat to Bradford City more than a fortnight ago.
It is hoped that the injury is not related to the Achilles problem that blighted Duff's 2008-09 campaign.
"It's more muscular, which is a good thing," the 27-year-old told the Gloucestershire Echo.
"We aren't sure how long it's going to take to settle down, but I'm going to stay off it for a couple of weeks and see how it goes.
"It's getting me down, but you have to play the hand you're dealt and I have to get on with it."
Meanwhile, striker Elvis Hammond is set to return to light training this week as he battles back from an ankle ligament injury.
