New Cheltenham Town manager Martin Allen has continued to revamp his squad by capturing the West Ham United teenager Josh Payne on a one-month emergency loan deal.
Since being installed as Keith Downing's replacement at Whaddon Road last week, Allen has made six Robins players available for transfer and also brought in Wigan Athletic youngster Lewis Montrose on a month's loan.
Payne is the current captain of the Hammers youth team and also played in the club's reserve team clash against Chelsea's second string last week.
A Hammers spokesman was quoted on Town's official website as saying: "Josh plays in the centre of midfield but has also played in the centre of defence.
"He's an energetic player who has good close control and an eye for a goal. Josh is captain of our Under-18s this season and is very highly thought of at the club."
