Guinan free to leave Robins

Cheltenham Town manager John Ward has opted to place the former Plymouth Argyle and Hereford United striker Steve Guinan on the Whaddon Road transfer list. The 31-year old has scored 18 goals in 112 appearances for the Robins since joining the club in summer 2004. He netted the only goal of the game as Ward's side won the League Two play-off final last term, and was a regular starter in the first three months of the current campaign. However, he has only started three League One matches since mid-October and is now deemed surplus to requirements by Ward. Meanwhile, Michael Whittington has joined Weston-Super-Mare on a month's loan and Adam Cain has signed for Mangotsfield United.
