Elliott eyeing Robins deal
Former Bristol Rovers defender Steve Elliott is still hoping to earn a contract at Cheltenham this summer. The 32-year-old is already in training with the Robins as he looks to seal a permanent move to Whaddon Road. But manager Mark Yates said earlier in the week that he was unlikely to make a move for Elliott and it is believed that his wage demands were too high for the League Two club. But Elliott is still hopeful a deal can be done and he told the Gloucestershire Echo: "I am here training at the moment and Mark Yates, Neil Howarth and the staff have been fantastic to me."They have let me come down and train and we have been speaking. I don't think we are far away and I'd love to come here."It's home and I am settled in the south west. Hopefully something might happen today (Thursday)."
