Eastham makes Robins return
18 Jan 2010 - 13:00:43
Cheltenham Town manager Mark Yates has persuaded Blackpool teenager Ashley Eastham to extend his loan agreement at Whaddon Road.
The 18-year-old central defender will now remain with the Robins until the end of the season, although the Championship side can recall him at 24 hours notice.
Eastham returned to Bloomfield Road earlier this month because of an injury crisis and was named among the substitutes for the Seasisers' recent match at Cardiff City.
Yates said: "It was all dead in the water last Monday and I've been actively searching for another young centre-back with some pace, power and strength.
"Ash has got that, he's one we know, he can slot straight back in and he's a good character.
"We had a phone call from Blackpool saying that the situation might have changed and I think we're Ashley's preferred choice, which is great.
"Hopefully now we can keep hold of him for a bit and help to develop him as a player so that he can keep on improving."
