Duff nearing Robins return

League Two strugglers Cheltenham Town have been boosted by the news that defender Shane Duff has returned to light training.

The 27-year-old has been sidelined since late August by an Achilles injury, but is on course to return to action ahead of the initial six-month recovery schedule.

Town's senior sports therapist Ian Weston told the club's official website: "Shane was given a six month rehabilitation protocol, but we're now four and a half months down the line so we're slightly ahead of schedule.

"We'll continue to take it steady for the next few weeks but by early March we should be looking to find Shane a reserve team game.

"I'd like to think he will be back in with the full squad in around ten days. Then, after another ten days training he should be ready to play some reserve team football.

"Hopefully we'll see him around the first team in mid to late March."
