Allen upbeat despite Robins plight

The Robins remain on a financial tightrope having avoided administration at the turn of the year, and dropping out of League Two would have serious implications for the club. Following their relegation from the third tier back in May some would have tipped Cheltenham to be challenging for an immediate return but chairman Paul Baker is content merely to survive as a Football League club for the time being. But that will not stop Allen looking higher, telling the Gloucestershire Echo: "The chairman has set us just two objectives, stay out of administration and not get relegated. "But of course I would love to be up there, we have a decent bunch of players and some of the youngsters who got their chance at the end of last season are now ready to kick on." He added: "We've lost a lot of players and there was a lot of doom and gloom after relegation. But now I've got a really good bunch of young players and we're really looking forward to it and we're ready."
