Allen lands loanee Artus

Cheltenham Town manager Martin Allen has agreed a deal to bring Bristol City midfielder Frankie Artus to Whaddon Road on loan.

The 20-year-old arrives in the middle of an injury crisis at the club with Lee Ridley, Shane Duff, John Finnigan and David Bird all set to miss the game against Oldham Athletic after picking up knocks in Saturday's draw at Huddersfield Town.

Allen told the club's official website: "Gary Johnson has done us a favour to let us have Frankie Artus because we're hardly paying anything for him.

"He's a good passer of the ball. I saw him play when he was on loan at Brentford and he impressed me then. I've kept an eye on him since then.

"He's not played many first-team games anywhere but he's a good lad and has plenty about him and we'll see if he can do the sort of job Ian Westlake did for us."
