Allen expecting Vincent exit

Cheltenham Town boss Martin Allen expects forward Ashley Vincent to leave the club in the near future, with the Robins facing the prospect of relegation to League Two.

The 23-year-old has rejected a new contract at Whaddon Road and is poised to move on to another League One club.

Allen told the Western Daily Press: "We have had enquiries from several clubs and we will see how it evolves this week, but it looks like Ashley will be leaving.

"I offered him a new contract a month ago which he rejected. I tried to persuade him to stay, but he has a chance to earn a lot more money at another club.

"It's difficult within the dressing room, because agents are working to get players out and get them better deals and I can't do anything about that."
