Gillespie exit edges closer

The long-running saga concerning the future of Cheltenham Town striker Steven Gillespie has taken a new twist after the 24-year-old handed in a written transfer request.
Last week Robins chairman Paul Baker revealed that he had rejected a bid for the highly-rated striker from an unnamed club that could have eventually risen to £400,000.
Boss Keith Downing said of Gillespie, who still has two years left on his current Whaddon Road contract: "He's not made the request because he's unhappy here.
"It's purely because he's aware of the interest from other clubs and feels that he'd like to look at opportunities elsewhere.
"I very much want to keep Steven and he's known that all along. It's now up to the bard to decide whether to accept the offer or not.
"Either way, Steven remains very much part of our plans and is continuing to work hard with us in pre-season training."
