Yates: We worked hard for win

Mark Yates saluted his Cheltenham side after watching them claim their first away win since early April with a 2-0 triumph at Aldershot. Danny Andrew and Jeff Goulding were the heroes as Yates' men also claimed their first win in four games, condemning the hosts to their first defeat in four. But the Robins were all indebted to a superb display from goalkeeper Scott Brown, who bounced back from his mistake which handed local rivals Oxford a 1-1 draw in midweek. Yates said: "We came with a bit of a gameplan and the boys made it a reality. We deserved the victory but we really worked hard for it. "My goalkeeper made a bit of an error on Tuesday and it cost us. But he showed what a good goalkeeper he is. When's he's positive he is as good as there is. He made a few saves, too many for my liking, especially towards the end, but that's what he's there for. We protected him manfully and when he was called upon he was superb. "It's important to get the first away win and the first clean sheet and we have to match it next time. We know we have good players and for once we've shown it away from home."
