Yates unhappy with penalty call

Mark Yates felt Cheltenham were denied a clear penalty in Saturday`s goalless draw with second-placed Port Vale. The Robins boss was happy with the point overall but insists his side should have been awarded a spot-kick after just seven minutes when Vale centre-half Gareth Owen held back Jeff Goulding on the byline, only for the referee to allow play to continue amid strong shouts for a foul. "We should have had a penalty in the first half because Jeff has got there and he is clearly held by the lad who is off the pitch," said Yates. "It is a clear penalty and I`ve seen the DVD, but all in all I am happy with the point and the commitment shown by my players."
