Yates sorry for performance

Cheltenham manager Mark Yates was in apologetic mood after watching his side outfought and outplayed during a 2-0 defeat to Bury at Whaddon Road. Ryan Lowe inspired the Shakers to their third win of the season with a sparkling display against a lacklustre home side, firing the visitors into the lead from the penalty spot in the 11th minute. Bury created a succession of chances afterwards but did not make the game safe until five minutes from time, when Michael Jones drilled a low shot past Scott Brown. "I apologise to the supporters for that [performance]," he said. "I expect better and I'm sure they do. "It was disappointing and not acceptable. We've got to pick ourselves up quickly and we've got a chance to do that against Oxford on Tuesday. "I'm expecting a big response. We didn't do what we set out to do today, we didn't dominate the ball or move the ball quickly."
