Yates sees bright future

Cheltenham manager Mark Yates believes Robins fans could have something to get excited about this season after his side's 3-2 home win over Crewe. Wesley Thomas cancelled out Patrick Ada's thumping volley for the visitors and then put Cheltenham ahead with a far post finish and although Crewe levelled through Calvin Zola, Jeff Goulding hit the winner for Cheltenham with a sharp turn and low drive. Yates said: "It was exciting, a little bit nervy at the end, but they had nothing to lose, they were trying to get back into the game. "If we'd have made better decisions we would have killed them off. I was pleased with the performance, I think the supporters have got something to get behind and get excited by. "The goal rocked us for about 10 seconds and then we had chances straight away. It was a great finish from their lad. Not a great deal we could have done about that bar get a little tighter on him. "Crewe are a renowned passing team, who like opening teams up and I thought we did exactly that to them. They've changed formations to match us up, sometimes that gets harder for us because they get a new lease of life, but we were dominant and just unfortunate we didn't put the game to bed in the first half.
