Mark Yates was in buoyant mood after his Cheltenham side continued their pre-season preparations with a 5-0 victory over Gloucester. New signing Steve Elliott marked his debut with a goal and Wesley Thomas, Josh Low, Jake Lee and Junior Smikle were also on target as the Robins coasted to victory. A delighted Yates said: "It was another good workout for us. We aren't going to get carried away but there are a lot of positives to take away from the game and it's a good end to the week. "We might try something a little different next week against Swansea. They are a good Championship team who will be looking to impress their new manager (Brendan Rodgers) and we may just use the game to look at how we may play away from home this season." On recent additions Elliott and Martin Riley, Yates added: "I feel they are great signings and they both excite me. I think we have a real solid base to work from now and it really is massive credit to the chairman and the board for allowing me to bring those two players in. "It has given us a real boost and we will kick on in this pre-season now."
